How
does it work?
The
successful delivery of the programme will be the responsibility
of Teignbridge Rural Regeneration Partnerpship (TRRP), otherwise
known as the Local Action Group (LAG).
The
LAG, following assessment by the Programme Manager, will decide
which projects will go forward for approval by Government Office
and the level of funding. Projects will usually be expected to find
at least 1/3rd of the costs from other government grants, local
authorities, lottery funds, charities, or other private sector (including
voluntary 'in kind' contributions). Preference will be given to projects
that address the needs of one or more of the target groups.
LEADER+
funds are intended to help support the costs of running a project.
The funds are not intended to support large capital projects but
small capital projects are eligible. (Less than 20% of the total
LEADER+ budget has been approved for capital expenditure).
Experience
will be shared with other LEADER+ areas within the UK and across
the EU and some joint projects may be developed.
Innovative
Ideas
Projects
should be innovative or about doing an additional activity or in
a different way. Such as:
-
A new approach to tackling a problem 'new solutions to existing
problems'
-
Partners between sectors of the community not previously considered.
The way a group or organisation is created that will bring fresh
ideas and approaches
- Looking
at and using the local potential in a different way. Finding the
hidden potential and developing it
- Creating
new products and services.
- Identifying
'unique selling points' for Teignbridge.
