Delegated Fund for Community (including Youth)

The Community Fund has been established to deliver small scale innovative and effective projects in the local rural community via an accessible fast track process. These grants will be for projects seeking funding up to a maximum of £3,000 or 75% of eligible costs, whichever is the lesser.

Projects must be completed by June 2008.

The criteria given below are not exhaustive and would not exclude a new idea providing it fits the overarching theme and LEADER+ criteria.

• Community events that raise awareness and identify an area's needs / disadvantages
• Small-scale additional equipment to service the demands of a growing service
• Provision of training and leadership (including ICT)

Provision of Services / Activities in the Community

• Exhibitions / festivals and events
• Feasibility studies / needs analysis / funding to help establish an organisation, help with development fees
• Transport
• Healthy living, fitness, combating social exclusion

Community Development Projects

• Village Design Statements / Village Appraisals
• Village trails, community information, tourist information and community gardens

Improved provision of Youth Activities / Facilities

• New youth projects
• Youth training courses within local settlements and to encourage individuals to lend their skills to youth organisations
• Helping existing groups to expand into new activities
